| | How many times can I change my photos on this site? |
| | | You are allowed to change your photos within reason. Excessive photo changes will be noted on your account if they over-tax our staff and resources. Please be kind! |
|
| | Why do you keep altering my photo when I upload it? |
| | | We must crop, size, lighten, darken, and adjust nearly every photo before we feel it is appropriate for our site. If we feel the content of your photo is not appropriate, we will respectfully edit it. If the photo is not of the quality we need, we notify you and delete it.
Please DO NOT send us photos with graphics cut-outs, fancy frames, extra colors, jokes, or borders. Photos with these attributes will either be returned or deleted. |
|
| | How do you determine which photo to use for my listing photo? |
| | | We look for the clearest photo of your face. If it happens to be your photo #1, that is the photo we will use. However, if we feel another photo attached to your profile is more appropriate and easier to create a listing photo from, we will use that photo.
You should always keep the best image of your face as your #1 photo. |
|
| | How do I get rid of all the white space around my photo? |
| | | Because we cannot take our entire site's page to display your photo, we must shrink it to fit nicely within your profile.
We may have had to crop down your photo if you submitted it with too much white (or "void") space around your photo.
PLEASE...Make sure you crop all white space from your photos before you upload each of them. That way, your photos will maintain their size ratio and look great!
Most simple graphics programs have the capability of cropping your photo (cutting out only the portions you wish to keep). |

|
| | I uploaded my photo, but it doesn't look as good as others! |
| | | When you (or whoever scanned your photo) saved your image file to floppy disk or your hard drive, the file was not saved with a high enough resolution (dots per square inch) to save it from distorting when being scaled down to fit our site.
When saving any image files, after scanning or when extracting them from your digital camera, make sure you save them as a JPG file and with the highest quality. Then, when we scale your photos down to size, they will look perfect! |
|
| | The site won't accept my photos. What's wrong? |
| | | We can usually reduce photo upload problems to a handful of factors:
Is the file you are uploading larger than 3 Megabytes in file size? Are you completely sure your file is a JPG, BMP, or GIF file and simply hasn't been renamed to a file with that type or extension? If your file is a JPG file, was it saved with the "progressive" format? If so, please export it from your preferred graphics program to a new JPG file without the progressive format. Is your photo file compressed into a ZIP file? We do not accept ZIP files, due to virus vulnerability reasons. Is your photo too large in scale? Is it so large that it makes the file size enormous? Is your Internet connection so slow that our server thinks you have timed out and logged off since starting your photo upload? Has your photo been corrupted by another program or is there any interference by your ISP, limiting the size of files you are able to upload?
These issues cover nearly 95% of all photo upload problems. If you are still having photo upload problems, you are able to send them to us via e-mail.
Our e-mail address for photo uploads is; Photos@TangoWire.com. You must supply your handle and password, and indicate which photo is your #1 photo. After your photos have been uploaded by our staff, you are able to edit the description of each photo by navigating back to the Photos page on our site.
PLEASE NOTE: This e-mail address is used for photos only. Technical support questions will be deleted and unanswered. |

| | I'm trying to search by handle, but it's not working! |
| | | This feature requires only that you enter the first part of a member's handle. This feature is not case sensitive. If you are trying to find a friend by handle and you are sure their handle is spelled correctly, please be aware that it may not be found if your friend has joined a site within a specific interest group that is off-limits for viewing to other members. |
|
| | How do I search for people without photos? |
| | | When you perform a search on our database of members, members with photos and who have most recently logged on appear at the top of the search results by default. You can search for members without photos by logging on to the site, clicking the Search tab, then changing search criteria next to the Photos option. |
|
| | After uploading my photo, it doesn't show up. Why? |
| | | All photos must pass our examination before being seen by other members. If you'd like to check the approval status of your photos, log onto the site and click the My Account tab, and then click the button under Photos. You'll see a list of your submitted photos and further information in the Status column. Until the status of your photo reads "Approved," it's not visible to other members.
Member photo approvals are usually completed within a few hours and no more than 24 hours (except holidays). Please be patient! |
